Secton Playoffs Round 1- Special Teams Players of the Week

The Playoffs have started here in Minnesota.  Last Tuesday were the first round games of the Section playoffs.   Most of Minnesota's teams played and there were a lot of high scoring games. Paul Cheney of Apple Valley High School contributed in many elements of Apple Valley's big win over St Louis Park.  Paul Cheney not only is the team's kicker and punter, but he's a big contributor on defense.  As a specialist, he kicked 6 for 6 on PATs and went 1 for 1 on field goals with a 34 yard field goal for a total of 9 points.  He also had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles on defense. For his accomplishments, he earned our Section Playoffs Round 1 Special Teams Player of the Week honors.  Congratulations!

Section Semifinal Playoffs- Special Teams Player of the Week

As the Minnesota State Section Semifinal Football games come to a close a number of kickers were huge contributors to their team's scoring.  This week Danny Laudet of Stillwater High School, had a big game and was selected as our Special Teams Player of the Week.

Danny converted all 5 of his extra points as well as connecting on 2 field goals of 34 and 42 yards for 11 points.  Danny is a well rounded kicker and handles all punts, kickoffs and field goals/PATs duties.  He has a huge leg and is a huge contributor to his team's success in the special teams game and with helping put his team's defense in great field position.
