STFA Kickers and Snappers Clutch in Section Semifinal Playoff Games (2015)

It's been a great MN 'Playoff Semifinal' week for our STFA kickers and snappers. A number of great performances that I'm proud to recognize:

Chase Sullivan kicking the Game Winner
  • Kicker Lincoln Brown and LS Seamus Wilson converted a huge Field Goal that led to 24-21 upset win as #6 seed Eagan HS beats #3 Centennial HS. 
  • Kicker Chase Sullivan of #5 seed Mahtomedi HS kicked a game winning field goal with less than a minute to play in a 10-7 upset win over #1 seed SMB.
  • K/P AJ Laudet of Stillwater HS kicked a 45 yard field goal, successfully converted/recovered 2 onside kicks and punted for a 40.5 yard average on 5 punts with the help from LS Cory Albertson.
  • K/P Alex Probert of Andover HS kicked 8 touchbacks on 8 kickoffs and 6 PATs.
  • K Isaac Stadler of Nortfield HS breaks the state record kicking 5 field goals in one game in an upset win over #1 seeded Owatonna. He also broke a school record with a 47 yard field goal!
  • K/P Tyler Defor of Mankato West HS kicked 9 PATs and connected on a 37 yard field goal for 12 points

Week 7- Special Teams Players of the Week (2015)

Our Player of the Week posts are designed to recognize the top kicking, punting and long snapping performances of the week in Minnesota at the High School Level.  We will also recognize the top STFA trained collegiate specialists and our 'out of state' athlete performances too.

In week 7 of the High School Football Season, emerged a kicker that is having a strong season. Ywg Xeng Lor of North St Paul HS kicked 4 PATs and 2 field goals of 27 & 32 yards for 10 points.  The top punter was Keshaun Story of Centennial HS who had 4 punts for 191 total yards and a 47.8 yard average.

The top STFA trained Collegiate specialist was Reid Taubenheim from University of North Dakota when 4 for 4 on field goals of 23, 37, 41 & 29 yards for 12 points.  This is second career collegiate game with 4 field goals.

  • Cameron Hausman- New Richmond HS (WI)- 5 for 5 PATs and 1 field goals of 38 yards. 2 touchbacks (one thru uprights)- 8 points

Top STFA Collegiate Specialists
  • Reid Taubenheim- U of North Dakota- 4 for 4 field goals of 23, 37, 41, 29 yards- 12 points
Honorable Mention
  • Stephen Day- U of MN Crookston- 8 punts for 335 total yards and a 41.9 yard average. Long of 52 yards and 1 punt I-20
  • Brendon Boche- Gustavus- 9 for 9 PATs- 9 points
  • Nathan Mesher-Laurier Golden U (Canada)- 5 for 5 PATs and 1 field goal of 21 yards. 6 KOs for 332 total yards. 5 punts for 205 total yards and 41 average and a long of 51 yards.- 8 points

Week 5- Special Teams Players of the Week (2015)

Our Player of the Week posts are designed to recognize the top kicking, punting and long snapping performances of the week in Minnesota at the High School Level.  We will also recognize the top STFA trained collegiate specialists and our 'out of state' athlete performances too.

At the midway point in the high school football season, we are starting to see a few kicker's names surface with repeat big kicking performances.  This week Anders Gelecinskyj of Bloomington Kennedy HS had another big game kicking with 2 PATs and 2 field goals of 29 and 47 yards to help his team.  

The week's top punter hails from St Thomas Academy.  Mac Brown had a big game throughout the whole game.  He had 3 punts for 170 total yards and a 56.7 yard ave, which included a phenomenal 87 yard punt, as well as 3 kickoffs for 182 yards, a 60.66 yard ave and two touchbacks. 3 of 3 on Extra points and as a WR 9 total  pass receptions for 108 yards and 1 TD reception.

Long Snapper Seamus Wilson of Eagan High School had a great game snapping executing 7 perfect punt and extra point snaps.

There were a number of big performances my many kickers and punters.  Congratulations to everyone.

Notable Performance
  • Freshman Kicker Nathan Willis of Eagan HS, broke the school record with a 40 Yard Field Goal during a Freshman B Squad game. Watch Here.
  • Freshman Reid Sanders of Wayzata HS, had a big game at the freshman level. 3 for 3 on Field Goals (long of 33 yards) and 4 for 4 PATs for 13 points.  Also had a tackle and a kickoff that lead to a safety!

Week 1- Special Teams Players of the Week (2015)

Our Player of the Week posts are designed to recognize the top kicking, punting and long snapping performances of the week in Minnesota at the High School Level.  We'd also like to recognize the top performances of some of our student athletes that we've helped train at the Collegiate and High School Level from across the US.

In the first full week of play for Minnesota high school football programs, we saw a lot of great performances. There were a number of stand out performances, but nothing stood out more than Aaron Salmon of Cleveland High School in MN.  Aaron kicked 10 PATs which made him the top kicking point scorer in Minnesota.


Top Punter of the week was Mac Brown of St Thomas Academy.  He had 6 punts for 248 yards and a 41.33 yard average.

  • Brady Leach- Moorhead HS- 3 for 3 PATs & 2 FGs of 29 & 44 yards- 9 points
