Armstrong Kicker excels at NCS Super Camp in Arizona

Armstrong Kicker excels at Super Camp in Arizona

Sophomore, Matthew Jaeger, a Varsity football kicker at Armstrong High School (MN), recently attended the National Camp Series, Super Camp X,  held annually  in Scottsdale Arizona.  It is a camp hosted by retired NFL kicker Michael Husted and Wizardkicking.com.  The competition included 100 elite kickers and long snappers, from all over the nation, of all ages, middle school through college. This years event was held on February 13th & 14th, 2016.
Coach Chris Husby and Soph Kicker Matthew Jaeger
Mathew Jaeger joined his Coach, Chris Husby (Armstrong Alum), of Special Teams Football Academy, as well as freshman kickers John Copeland (St Thomas Academy), Nathan Willis (Eagan HS), Mason Lowell (St Thomas Academy) & Trevor Redmond (Mounds View HS), representing Minnesota.

The kickers were grouped and evaluated by graduation year, in punting, field goals and kickoffs, then ranked accordingly.
After the charting period ended, Matthew ranked 1st in punting, 6th in field goals, and 7th in kickoffs. He was the only sophomore to then qualify to compete in the Sophomore Final Four, in all three categories. The players then went head to head [in competition] in each category.

Matthew finished as the Sophomore Punting champion, and came in 2nd Place for field goals as well as 4th place for kickoffs.  Freshmen,Trevor Redmond and Mason Lowell also placed in their final competition.
