October 21- Minnesota NKR Fall Football Kicking Camp

Join us, on Sunday, October 21, 2018, as Coach Chris Husby, and his staff at Special Teams Football Academy will be running its Fall NKR (National Kicking Rankings) Kicking, Punting and Snapping Camp at Minnetonka High School from 9:00-3:00 PM.  Registration starts at 8:30 AM.

This is a great opportunity for athletes to show their abilities while in season when they are at their peak performance for evaluation as well as see how they stack up against their peers.  Also the camp will have an In-Depth 90 minute instructional period for specialists to find tune technique while the football seasons start wrapping up so that you can finish the season on a high note! Reserve a spot for the October 21st camp today: Sign Up.


The NKR Evaluation are for specialists in grades 6th through 12th grade.  The Clinic is open for specialists of all ages.

We will run the specialists through a standardize test for specialists on Field Goals, Kickoffs, Punts and Long/Short Snaps.  The evaluation can be used for athletes that have interest in pursuing football at the collegiate level.  I like to refer to it as the ACT test for specialists.  For more information on how the camp runs read here.

Athlete that participate, will receive a rating that can be used to see how you stack up against your local and national peers.  Here is a link to see the current Seniors. 

Following the evaluation, there will be a free 90 minute clinic on K, P, LS for NKR camp participants.  The clinic will approximately starts at 1:30 PM, but may start up to 30 minutes earlier, depending on how fast the evaluations get done.  To Apply for just the Clinic, email Coach Husby to reserve a spot.

The National Kicking Rankings platform is one of the newest and hottest evaluation platforms in the industry. Created based on a proven camp format that Chris Husby and Brian Jackson have run for several years.

• 9:00-9:15 AM- Camp Welcome/ Warm Up / Camp Photo
• 9:15-12:30 PM- Charts (Field Goals 8 kicks | Kickoffs 4 kicks | Punts 6 kicks | Snappers (20 snaps + agility)) with Competitions intermixed as time allows. 
• 1:00-2:30 PM- 90 Minute instructional period

Summer Football Kicking Camps

Hello Everyone!


I hope you all had a great Mothers Day Weekend.  I’m sending our updated Camps Schedule for May-July.  It is semi long, but it will explain all of our camps.

We will be offering a variety of camps in Minnesota:



1)  On June 23- We’ll be running a Kicking, Punting and Snapping camp at Benilde St Margarets.  It will be a 4 hour camp working with our team of instructors.  We’ll be working on basic fundamentals, advanced techniques and drills that your son can use and train with during the summer.  Camp is open to kids of all age and skill level.


2)  NCS (National Camp Series Evaluations & Camps) Events-  Right now I have 3 camps set up.  I will be setting up 1 fall event in October with details to come.

To Paraphrase it, it is an evaluation camp where your son will be run through a standardized FG, KO, Punting or Snapping Chart, that is used across the US.  It's like an ACT Test for specialists. This is open to Upcoming 6th-12th graders.  Your son will get a Profile, Bio and Chart, and it can be a great way to showcase your abilities/improvements and to send out to college coaches for potential scholarship opportunities by your Junior and Senior years.  

You will get ranked amongst your peers locally and nationally.  There will be a FREE 90 minute clinic (following the evaluation) for all NCS participants.  We are also offering an option to just attend the 90 minute clinic.  To register for either the NCS Camp or Clinic alone, Click here.
*If you are going into college, or are currently in college, you may attend the Clinic.

a.       June 2 at Stillwater High School
b.      June 24 at Rochester Community & Technical College (may be better for our students in Southern MN and Iowa areas
c.       July 7 & 8 at St Thomas University (2 day camp)

3)  July 7 & 8 (2 day camp at St Thomas University)- This will be turning into my Flagship Kicking, Punter and Snapping Camp.  Last year I teamed up with Tom Feely (National Renown Kicking Coach- FeelyKicking.com based out of Tampa, FL).  His son is Jay Feely with the Arizona Cardinals, and all of his kids were All American kickers and punters at different levels of football.  This year we are upping the Ante to offer a state of the art kicking camp.  It will be called the “Top Tier All American Kicking Camp & Tryout.”  We added Kick/Punt Returners into the mix.  We have added Former Packers NFL Special Teams (of 18 years) Coach Mike Stock to our team for this camp.  He will be giving a Special Teams Coaches Clinic to various High School and College Coaches in the area, but also offering instruction to Kick and Punt Returners.  But he has a vault of knowledge that he can offer your son of what he knows about all aspects of Special teams. All athletes will receive 2 days of instruction and will be given an NCS evaluation as well.  This is open to athletes of all skill levels.


There will be one Major Perk opportunity.  The top rated Kickers, Punters, Snappers and Returners from the camp have a chance to earn a spot on the All American Watch List.  There will be a set criteria to reach for Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to reach their mark (standards will be posted soon).  The standards have been created based on 7 years of kicking data collected by NCS.  If you qualify, you will be put on this Watch List during your football season, and we’ll track your game stats. Based on how the seasons go, we’ll create a finalist list of the All American Specialist Honor from each class.  It’s an All American Watch List created by Specialists for Specialists.  We’ll be actively promoting the athletes on this list to all the Division 1, 2 & 3 programs across the United States.

College Athletes are welcome to attend, and you may register for the “Instruction Only” part of the camp.  We’ll have a website for this event, and it will be live within the week.  Right now it’s posted within the Camps Section on www.specialteamsfootballacademy.com



4)  July 28- I will be teaming up with Taylor Mehlhaff to run a PreSeason Kicking Camp at St Thomas Academy.  This camp will be designed as a Season Prep Camp for your upcoming season.  It’s available to athletes in High School, Middle School, College, and Free Agent athletes.  We encourage you to bring your Kicker, snapper, punter, and holder to attend too, to work as a unit before the season starts.
