State Semifinal Playoffs- Special Teams Players of the Week (2014)

As the State Tournament Semifinal games came to an end, there were a number of close and exciting game. It is always fun to see what teams continue to stay strong, and what teams make surprise upsets. 

The Top Kicker was Diego Meza-Palmer of Minneota HS. He stayed busy kicking 7 PATs and 1 field goal of 30 yards for 10 points.  The Top Punter was Mitchell Schmitz of Caledonia HS who booted 5 punts for 255 total yards and a 51.0 yard average.

Congrats to everyone who earned a spot this week on their big kicking performances!  Good luck to everyone still in their state playoff runs.

Top Kicker

Honorable Mention

  • Billy Walker- Totino Grace HS- 4 for 5 PATs and 1 field goal of 26 yards- 7 points 
  • Lane Girtz- Pierz HS- 3 for 3 PATs and 1 field goal of 32 yards- 6 points
  • Sam Peters- DeLaSalle HS- 5 for 5 PATs- 5 points


Top Punter

  • Mitchell Schmitz- Caledonia HS- 5 punts for 255 total yards and a 51.0 yard average.

Honorable Mention

  • Nick Kubesh- BOLD HS- 6 punts for 250 total yards and a 41.7 yard average.
  • Alec Engler- Minneota HS- 2 punts for 78 total yards and 39.0 yard average.
