Northern Specialists Camp to be Held at St Cloud State University on January 8-9


Minneapolis, US:  Special Teams Football Academy and Team Jackson Kicking have teamed up to run their 3rd Annual Northern Specialists Camp at St. Cloud State University in the Husky Dome on January 8-9th, 2016. It's a great chance for the kickers, punters, and long snappers to improve their skills over the winter.  The camp will also allow the participants to tune up for the major winter Kicking Evaluation Camps.  Camp Info and

2015 Camp


 This kicking football camp is one of the biggest winter camps in the Midwest run between November to March. Both, 'Special Teams Football Academy' and 'Team Jackson Kicking' bring together a highly experienced team of coaches and years of experience and knowledge to help specialists take their skill to the next level. From beginners to experienced specialists, every athlete can expect training tailored to their skill level.



Great Punting Instruction


Participants of this camp will be offered instruction, drill work, skill level evaluation, competition, tips on recruiting as well as game scenarios training. Camp film will be available to specialists who would like extra exposure. Kickers, punters and long snapper from around the Midwest will be in attendance.  Ages 10-21 and all skill levels welcome (Youth, High School and Collegiate Divisions).  If you want to take your kicking camp to the next level, this camp is for you.  Camp Info and

The Special Teams Football Academy organizes one-on-one private instruction, small group clinics, as well as instructional and evaluation camps throughout the year. 4 STFA Kickers and Snappers Reach State Championship Football Game (2015)

Special Teams Football Academy is excited to announce that 4 of their Special Teams trained athletes (Kickers, Punters and Long Snappers) have helped their teams reach the State Championship Football Game.  4 specialists from Minnesota. 

Congrats to Mac Brown (St Thomas Academy), Grant Ryerse (East Ridge), Diego Meza-Palmer (Minneota) and Jack Lundgren (Osseo)!

January Kicking Camp- Northern Specialist Camp- January 8-9, 2016

3rd Annual Northern Specialists Camp- Winter Kicking Camp

Coach Chris Husby of Special Teams Football Academy and Coach Brian Jackson of Team Jackson Kicking will be teaming up to run our 3rd Annual Northern Specialist Camp on January 8th and 9th, 2016 in St Cloud, MN at St Cloud State University's Husky Dome.   


2015 Camp

Our Northern Specialist Camp covers multiple aspects in the kicking, punting and long snapping game for High School, Collegiate and Youth specialists (ages 11-22) of all skill levels.  This camp is designed to help your athlete become better through instruction over the off season, improve confidence in own ability, prepare specialists for larger showcase camps, as well as get exposed to College Coaches.

The camp runs the evening of January 8th (6:00-10:00 PM) and January 9th (10:00 AM- 5:00 PM).  Friday night will cover predominately instruction and involve fun competition, and is an optional night to attend, but encouraged.

State Semifinal Playoffs- Special Teams Players of the Week (2015)

Our Player of the Week posts are designed to recognize the top kicking, punting and long snapping performances of the week in Minnesota at the High School Level.  We will also recognize the top STFA trained collegiate specialists and our 'out of state' athlete performances too.

As the State Tournament Semifinal games came to an end, there were a number of close and exciting game. It is always fun to see what teams continue to stay strong, and what teams make surprise upsets. 

The Top Kicker was Mitch Bourgerie of St Michael Albertville HS. He had a great game kicking 4 PATs and 1 field goal of 7 points.  The Top Punter was Dan Pietruszewski of South St Paul HS. Dan had 3 punts for 131 total yards and a 43.7 yard average.

This week we had some great performances by our STFA trained collegiate athletes.   Our kicker of the week had a great game as a kicker and punter.  Nathan Mesher of Laurier University who kicked 1 PAT and 3 field goals of 10, 37 and 39 yards for 10 points He also had 10 punts for 382 total yards and a 38.2 yard average. Long of 46 yards and 3 punts I-20.

Congrats to everyone who earned a spot this week on their big kicking performances!  Good luck to everyone still in their state playoff runs.

State Quarterfinal Playoffs- Special Teams Players of the Week (2015)

Our Player of the Week posts are designed to recognize the top kicking, punting and long snapping performances of the week in Minnesota at the High School Level.  We will also recognize the top STFA trained collegiate specialists and our 'out of state' athlete performances too.

It's a special time of the year for all the teams that are still playing this far into the playoffs, as teams have just wrapped up the State Tournament Quarterfinal games.  It is always fun to see what teams continue to stay strong, and what teams make surprise upsets. 

Grant Ryerse of East Ridge HS (Class 6A), has shown again why he is one of the top kickers in the state of Minnesota. Grant played a major role in his team's State Quarterfinal Win.  Grant went 4 for 4 on PATs and made 1 field goal 42 yards for a total of 7 points. Ryerse's 42 yard field goal ended up being the game winning field goal with 3 seconds left in a huge win over Wayzata HS.

The Top Punter was Alex Probert of Andover HS (Class 5A). Alex had 3 punts for 137 total yards and a 45.7 yard average.

The top Out of State STFA trained Specialist is Cameron Hausman of New Richmond HS (WI).  He's had a recent surge of big game performances the last 4 weeks.  This week he converted 3 for 3 PATs and 1 field goal of 33 yards- 6 points. He also had 3 punts for 114 total yards and a 38 yard average. 1 punts I-20.  He helped his team upset a topped rank team to advance in the playoffs.

This week we name 2 STFA trained collegiate athletes for our kickers of the week.  Isaac Aanerud of Bemidji State University kicked 3 for 3 on PATs and 3 field goals of 37, 46 and 27 yards for 12 points. He also had 3 punts for 107 total yards and a 35.7 yard average. Long 60 yards.  The other top specialist is punter Nate Skare of Upper Iowa University. He booted 5 punts for 256 total yards and a 51.2 yard average. Long 65, 1 punt I-20 and 2 punts 50+ yards.
