Week 7- Special Teams Players of the Week

In week 7 of the High School Football Season, we have a new kicker that has emerged with the top performance in Minnesota. Jacob Newman of White Bear Lake stayed busy making 6 of 6 PATs and kicking 1 Field Goal of 30 yards. We've also now seen a few repeat top performances from our "Out of State" specialists and Collegiate kickers.  Miguel Recinos of Mason City High School (IA) went 4 for 4 on Field goals and tied a state record for Field Goals in a game.  Ruan Albuquerque also made both of his 2 field goals which has now brought his season totals to 12 made Field Goals of 15.

Miguel Recinos

Top Out-Of-State Specialist of the Week

  • Miguel Recinos- Mason City High School (IA)- Had the game of his life going 4 for 4 on Field goals (58, 48, 28, and 22), kicking 2 punts for a 46 yard average, and kicking 9 of his 10 kickoffs for touchbacks (71 yard ave). That performance broke a school record, with the 58 yard field goal, but also, he also tied the state record with 4 field goals in the game! Among the other players that share this 4 Field Goals in a game record are Nate Kaeding and Mike Myers, former and present U of Iowa kickers, respectively, so Miguel is in pretty select company.  To see his highlight film click here.

Honorable Mention
  • Cameron Hausman- New Richmond (WI)-5 for 5 PAT and 2 punts for 87 yards and a 43.5 yard average (Long 50).- 5 points
