Week 6- Special Teams Player of the Week

Our Week 6 Special Teams Prep Athlete of the Week hails from Rogers High School.  Their football team is doing very well this year and are currently 6-0.  Isaac Aanerud had one of his best games of his seasons.  He kicked 8 for 8 on Extra Points and kicked 1 Field Goals for 23 yards.  He continues to lead and help his team win games.  Also, one of our "Out of State" Kickers had a huge game for his team.  Nathan Mesher converted 5 of 6 field goals and was subsequently named to his league's All-Star Team! Congratulations!

• Isaac Aanerud- Rogers- 8 for 8 on PATs and 1 Field Goal for 23 yards- 11 points

Honorable Mention

• Aiden McConnell- Henry Sibley- 4 for 4 PATs and 2 field goals of 23 & 21 yards- 10 points
• Andy Tangen- Minnehaha Academy- 8 for 8 PATs and kicking 5 of his 7 kickoffs for touchbacks- 8 points
• Zach Wessels- Austin- 2 for 2 PATs and 2 field goals of 24 & 34 yards- 8 points

• Andrew Ajaluwa- DeLaSalle- 3 punts for 144 yards and a 48 yard average.
  

Honorable Mention

• Alex Copa- Blaine- 2 punts for 93 yards and a 46.5 yard average.
• Brandon Wroge- Mayer Lutheran- 2 punts for 86 yards and a 43 yard average.
• Joe Matejcek- Bethlehem Academy- 5 punts for 202 yards and a 40.4 yard average.
• Jannik Fredricksen- Wayzata- 3 punts for 121 yards and 40.3 yard average as well has kicking 5 touchbacks (averaging 67.4 yards) + 2 pooch KOs.
  

Coach Husby also has helped train a number of specialists that live outside of MN.  We'd like to recognize those student's top performances.
This week we had a number of outstanding performances that we had to recognize.
 
 

Nathan Mesher

Top Out-Of-State Specialist of the Week

• Nathan Mesher- Sir John McDonald High School (Waterloo,Canada)- 5 for 6 on Field Goals and 3 PATs-  Named the Ontario Football Conference Player of the Week and named to the OFC All Star Team. He finished his season going 15 for 16 on Field Goals and 2nd in conference total points with 62. - 18 game points

Honorable Mention

• Trevor Smith- Cambridge Christian (Tampa, FL)- 3 for 3 PATs & 1 Field Goal of 21 yards. 6 touch backs with 3 out of the endzone.- 6 points
• Josh Weiler- Fargo South- 6 for 6 PATs and 4 touchbacks- 6 points
• Drew Cornwell- Iowa City HS (IA)- 6 for 6 PATs & 3 touchbacks- 6 points
• Cameron Hausman- New Richmond (WI)- 3 for 3 PATs, 1 Field Goal of 38 yards and 7 punts for 264 yards and 37.7 yard average (Long of 48)- 6 points
