October 12- Minnesota NCS Football Kicking Camp

Join us, on Sunday, October 12, 2014, as Coach Chris Husby, and his staff at Special Teams Football Academy will be running it's  October NCS (National Camp Series) Kicking, Punting and Snapping Camp at Lakeville South High School from 1:00-5:00 PM.  Registration starts at 12:30 PM.

It will be an (NCS) evaluation and instructional camp.  The instructional focus will be on preparing the Kicking/Punting/Snapping specialists for summer training. The camp will have 2.5 hours of evaluation and 90 minutes of instruction.  Specialists can also sign up for the INSTRUCTION ONLY CLINIC through the link below.  Reserve a spot for the October 12th camp today: Sign Up.
 

The NCS Evaluation are for specialist in grades 6th through 12th grade.  The Clinic is open for specialists of all ages.

We will run the specialists through a standardize test for specialists on Field Goals, Kickoffs, Punts and Long/Short Snaps.  The evaluation can be used for athletes that have interest in pursuing football at the collegiate level.  I like to refer to it as the ACT test for specialists.  For more information on how the camp runs read here.

Each athlete that participates, will receive a rating that can be used to see how you stack up against your local and national peers.  Here is a link to see the current Seniors


Following the evaluation, there will be a free 90 minute clinic on K, P, LS for NCS camp participants.  The clinic will approximately starts at 2:30 PM, but may start up to 30 minutes earlier, depending on how fast the evaluations get done.  To Apply for just the Clinic, register here.

The National Camp Series' KIX (Kicking IndeX) Player Ratings are OBJECTIVELY based upon the data that they have collected for several years. Having been able to capture the statistics from their results for specialists in the kicking game, they rate our athletes in each of the following:
  • Field Goals 
  • Kick Off
  • Punts
  • Long Snaps
Using the Kix Rating System, campers have the opportunity to showcase their talent through the NCS charting layout.Any more information on the KIX system can be found here.

Week 5- Special Teams Player of the Week (2014)

At the midway point in the high school football season, we are starting to see a few kicker's names surface with repeat big kicking performances.  This week Patrick LeCorre of Edina had a big game kicking with 2 PATs and field goals of 34, 38 and 42 yards to help his team beat rival Minnetonka.  He also went 7 for 7 on Kickoffs for Touch Backs and made a crucial block on a 2 point conversion to help score 11 points for his team.  Patrick's had a stellar high school football kicking career and has 22 career made field goals to date!

There were a number of big performances a number of kickers and punters.  Congratulations to everyone.

December Kicking Camp- Southern Specialists Camp- December 12-14, 2014

3rd Annual Southern Specialists Camp- Winter Kicking Camp


Coach Chris Husby of Special Teams Football Academy and Coach Brian Jackson of Team Jackson Kicking will be teaming up to run our 3rd Annual Southern Specialist Camp on December 12-14, 2014 in Hattesburg, MS at Petal High School in Petal, MS.




Our Southern Specialist Camp covers multiple aspects in the kicking game for High School & Youth (ages 12-19) Specialists. This camp is open for Kickers, Punters and Long Snappers of all skill level.   This camp is designed to help your athlete become better through instruction, improve confidence in own ability, prepare specialists for LARGER SHOWCASE CAMPS, as well as get exposed to College Coaches.

Addition Camp Enhancements

  • National Camp Series Rating and Evaluation: $50 (Highly Recommended for 8th to 12th graders)
    • During camp, players that select this option will be charted and rated on a national scale, and objectionally ranked by NCS across the nation. This will provide tremendous exposure to college coaches
  • Premium Recruiting Video Package:  $60 (Recommended for FR and Older)
    • Premium package consists of 7-15 clips from different angles, in different aspects of camp, also a disc that will be mailed to your home for you to make copies and send to college, as well as a link to upload to your YouTube channel

Week 4- Special Teams Player of the Week (2014)

Last Friday night we saw a number of amazing kicking performance. We had 2 great performances deserving of our kicker of the week awards.  Minnehaha Academy's Kicker Matthew Gibbons had a very busy night.  Matthew  had 11 PATs which earned him 2nd place all time in the state for PATs made in a game.  Our second recipient was Nick Ricci who went 4 for 4 on Field Goals and converted 2 fields goals of 33 and 23 yards scoring 10 points for his team. Matthew and Nick were easy picks for our Week 4 Prep Special Teams Player of the Week.

Week 3- Special Teams Player of the Week (2014)

In Week 3 of High School Football, we saw another batch of great performances by a number of specialists.  Our week 3 Minnesota Prep Athlete Special Teams Player of the Week hails from Sleepy Eye St Mary, Jared Rothmeier.   He had a big day for his team kicking 7 for 7 on PATS and also going kicking 1 Field Goal and scoring 10 points for his team.  Congratulations!

Week 2- Special Teams Player of the Week (2014)

We had an exciting week for football in the first full week of the Minnesota High School Football Season.  There were a number of high scoring games as well as a number of great performances by specialists.  Our top Minnesota High School specialist had a busy game.  Zach Savitz of Hopkins High School converted all 3 of his PATs as well as kicked 2 field goals of 32 & 21 yards.  Zach had a great game and is off to a great start this season.
